At Lewisburg Neighborhoods, we believe that vibrant communities are built not just with bricks and sidewalks, but with people who care. Our volunteers, along with partners in Lewisburg Borough, Bucknell University, and surrounding towns, dedicate their time and energy to making this region a place where neighbors connect, natural spaces thrive, and life feels a little richer every day.

Since our founding, we’ve dreamed big—and then rolled up our sleeves to make those dreams real. From restoring stream banks and creating nature play spaces in Hufnagle Park, to repairing the historic stone bridge in Soldiers Park and helping shape the Piers Art Park, our projects are designed to bring people together and leave a lasting impact. Through the efforts of our small team, we applied for and secured $4 million in grant funding to specifically give back to Lewisburg. Every grant dollar is invested directly in our neighborhoods, funding projects, creating spaces, and bringing the community together to shape the future of Lewisburg.

Walk through Lewisburg, and you’ll see the evidence of these efforts: the Bull Run Greenway connecting our parks, the playful spirit of the Polar Bear Plunge, the cozy moveable Adirondack chairs in Hufnagle Park, and the simple pleasure of a bike ride along our trails. From planting trees to cleaning riverbanks, from making the river accessible for kayaking to advocating for sustainable development, every initiative is a step toward a safer, greener, and more welcoming Lewisburg.

Looking ahead to 2026, we’re excited to launch initiatives that will deepen our impact: a revolving loan fund to help residents and businesses prepare for flooding, a new bus shelter near Hufnagle Park, and a handbook to guide residents and newcomers toward civic engagement and local resources.
