The Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association's HERYN (Helping Engage our River's Youth with Nature) program is a widely popular free series of day sessions for kids ages 8-13 that introduce them to fishing and kayaking skills.

The program is designed to build confidence and fundamental skill building as students learn the basics and safety of kayaking, life jackets, knot-tying, casting, etc. They eventually work their way to the lake for fishing and kayaking sessions practice and competitions designed to expand upon the lessons they learned earlier in the day.

Each program day ends with an Enviroscape presentation on how watersheds work, pollution can impact waterways and what can be done in everyday lives to make an impact in our local communities.

Your donation to this page helps the Riverkeeper association offset costs and keep this vital program, which has served hundreds of kids over the past several years, free to families which have multiple other financial burdens.
