Nonprofit Registration

Nonprofit Eligibility Information

Note that “public charities” do not include private foundations (operating or non-operating). 

Eligible Nonprofit organizations must:

  • Be a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a current IRS determination letter and compliant with IRS requirements, established and approved before December 31, 2024.
  • Have a current registration with the Pennsylvania Department of State, Bureau of Corporations and Charitable Organizations, unless exempt, and complaint with Pennsylvania laws governing charitable organizations.
  • Have submitted a 2024 IRS 990 form or postcard, or demonstrate exemption from filing.
  • Have a physical address or a post office box in Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Tioga, or Union County. Organizations operating from a home or remote office must also provide the addresses of two current board members who reside in one of the counties listed above.
  • Have a minimum of three board members responsible for overseeing operations. 

A religious organization is eligible only if it has a specific, community-wide secular project, such as one focused on food, housing, education, or community health. 

Institutions of higher education, private foundations, community foundations, and programs with fiscal agents are ineligible to participate.

Organizations that engage in or support hateful activities targeting individuals or groups based on race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or disability are not eligible to participate. 

For organizations that participated in Raise the Region 2025, they must have secured at least ten unique donors during the 2025 campaign to be eligible to participate in 2026. 

FCFP reserves the right to determine eligibility and may disqualify any organization for breach of these terms, deceptive practices, falsifying information, actions that could harm the reputation of Raise the Region or FCFP, for slandering or disparaging other nonprofit organizations or other factors as determined by FCFP.

Raise the Region 2026 Registration

Registration for Raise the Region 2026 opens December 15, 2025. 
All registration forms must be completed by February 13, 2026 to be eligible for participation.
