Joan Konkle, wife of Dr. William Konkle, established a library in her husband’s memory and she willed their home and books to the Montoursville Public Library Association, who opened it to the public in 1944 as the W.B. Konkle Memorial Library.  Over the past 81 years, the collection has grown and moved to the current location on Broad Street. This allowed for expansions for the Children’s Wing and the addition of technology resources to better serve the community.

2023 brought our "REFRESH" to the library, we renovated everything!  The "Student Art in the Library has been revealed, stop in and see all the Montoursville Area School District student's work of art.  Also, watch the website for all the programs offered all year around.

In addition to books, the W.B. Konkle Memorial Library offers Inter-Library Loan borrowing; audio books; e-books; DVD’s; Free access to Magazines and youth programs, like the Summer Reading Program, that brings together education and fun to inspire lifelong learners.
