About Us
SUN P.E.T.S. (Prevent Excess Through Sterilization) is an all volunteer nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to solving the dog and cat overpopulation problem in Snyder, Union, and Northumberland (S-U-N) counties.
SUN P.E.T.S. is an all volunteer nonprofit 501c3 organization consisting of a board of directors, officers, and volunteers who donate their time and energy to help reduce the pet overpopulation problem in our area. We serve the residents of Snyder, Union, and Northumberland counties by helping low-income individuals and families in those counties with the cost of spaying or neutering their pets. We also work to educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering.
Through the work of our board, officers and volunteers, we have created an annual budget funded by donations, grants, and fundraising events. The monies raised go directly to our primary mission of spaying and neutering and secondary mission of responsible pet care education. None of our volunteers, officers, or board members receives any type of financial payment from our organization.
Since 1984, we have helped to spay or neuter over 25,000 animals in our three county area.

(Prevent Excess Through Sterilization) is an all volunteer nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to reducing the dog and cat overpopulation problem in Snyder, Union, and Northumberland (S-U-N) counties. We also work to educate the public on responsible pet ownership and other related topics.
By helping to finance the cost of spaying or neutering of pets of low-income individuals and families, we reduce the number of homeless cats and dogs through our voucher and bus programs.
