Remi's Purpose

On June 7, 2019, our world stopped.

Remi Joan Cowan was just 16 weeks old; perfect, joyful, and deeply loved. In a moment that no parent could ever imagine, Remi tragically passed away after suffering a lack of oxygen while in the care of a babysitter. Our beautiful baby girl was gone before we could understand why.

Losing a child is a pain that cannot be described. In the days after Remi’s passing, I sat beside her grave in the cemetery, overwhelmed with grief and questions no parent should ever have to ask. As I walked through the rows of graves, I began noticing something heartbreaking; many plots marked only by temporary markers, some faded beyond recognition. Lives once loved, now without a permanent remembrance.

In that moment, through tears and prayer, a purpose began to form.

Out of the greatest loss of our lives, Remi’s Purpose was born.

Remi’s Purpose exists to help families during one of the most devastating moments they will ever face. When someone loses a loved one, the emotional weight is overwhelming, but the financial burden of funeral arrangements can make that pain even heavier. Many families simply cannot afford the thousands of dollars required for burial, cremation, or memorial services.

Through Remi’s legacy, we provide financial assistance and guidance to families navigating final arrangements; helping ensure that every life is honored with dignity, remembrance, and love.

Because every life deserves to be remembered.

And because Remi’s short life continues to make a lasting difference.
