Montoursville Little League Softball Field Project

Montoursville Little League is excited to announce an ambitious project to build a state-of-the-art softball field for our community. This facility is designed to provide young athletes with a safe and inclusive environment where they can hone their skills, develop a sense of teamwork, and build lasting friendships. Project Overview

The development of the softball field will be carried out in four carefully planned phases, each addressing critical aspects of the project. The detailed breakdown of these phases and their associated costs are outlined below.

Phase 1: Ground Preparation and Field Development

1. Grading the ground to ensure a level playing surface: $10,000
2. Seeding the outfield, along with the application of compost, lime, and fertilizer: $22,000
3. Drainage: $1,500
   1. 6” drain tile. Start from mid left field line, around home, extend beyond right field fence.
   2. 4” around outer edge of infield to 1st base
4. Applying 4 inches of diamond dirt to the infield: $12,000

Total Investment for Phase 1: $45,500

Phase 2: Essential Field Structures

1. Installation of fencing around the field perimeter, including:
   • Backstop and extended fencing beyond the 1st and 3rd baselines: $16,000
   • Fencing around the outfield boundary: $16,000
2. Construction of dugouts: $10,000

Total Investment for Phase 2: $42,000

Phase 3: Additional Enhancements

This phase focuses on the addition of amenities that will enrich the experience for players and spectators alike, including the potential construction of a concession stand and batting cages. These enhancements will not only improve the functionality of the field but will also help generate revenue to sustain the facility.

 

 

Phase 4: Field Lighting

The final phase of the project involves installing a comprehensive lighting system to extend the usability of the field into the evening hours. This investment will ensure that the facility can host games and practices after dark, maximizing its value to the community. The estimated cost for this phase is $200,000.
