Loyalsock Odyssey of the Mind Boosters

Loyalsock Odyssey of the Mind started in 1983 and has fielded over 130 teams over the last 39 years. Never missing a year. Many of those teams advanced to the State level of competition and 52 teams competing at the World level with 9 of those teams finishing in the top 10.

Odyssey of the Mind (OotM) is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Students use their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics.

The teams demonstrate their solutions, in the form of an 8-minute skit, to judges and the public at competitions on the regional, state, and world level. Teams form in October, practice throughout the winter, and then the first competition occurs in the beginning of March. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and 25 other countries participate in the program.
