Herr Memorial Library

For 80 years, Herr Memorial Library in Mifflinburg has been a vibrant hub for families, fostering literacy and a love of lifelong learning. With over 24,000 items in our collection, there's something for everyone! Browse our DVDs, audiobooks, children’s discovery bags, family game boxes, STEM kits, graphic novels, and, of course, an extensive selection of books. There’s always something exciting to explore!

HOWEVER, TODAY'S LIBRARY IS ABOUT MORE THAN READING. HERR ALSO OFFERS A WIDE VARIETY OF PROGRAMS FOR ALL AGES, FROM INFANT TO ADULT.

CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS We offer a variety of children’s programs that promote early literacy, creativity, and hands-on learning. Toddlers and preschoolers build vocabulary, fine motor skills, and social skills through Storytime, crafts, and play, while infants and caregivers can bond in the Baby Move and Groove class. Elementary students participate in crafts and STEM activities during the school year and enjoy outdoor programs in the summer, and students in grades K–5 engage in hands-on STEM projects through the Engineering Club.

TWEEN/TEEN PROGRAMS The library's “Teen Space” features computers, a pool table, large screens for video games and movies, and a study room. Weekly programming for tweens and teens includes trivia, games, and craft nights that help foster social connections in a safe environment. 

ADULT PROGRAMS 

Herr Memorial Library offers a range of programs for adults to inspire learning, creativity, and connection. Participants can join the Special Stitches Knitting Club, Writer’s Group, Novel Thoughts Book Club, or Genealogy Club, take beginner sewing classes, access the computer lab and digital literacy classes, or receive one-on-one technology assistance.

Herr Memorial Library truly has something for everyone, but we cannot sustain these programs and increase our collection without support. Your gift will help us continue as a staple of the community, providing a family-friendly environment for lifelong learning. Thank you!
