Westfield Area Historical Society

A nonprofit organization

We are a not-for-profit educational organization dedicated to preserving and documenting the history of Westfield, PA and the area communities -- Sabinsville, Cowanesque, Potter Brook, Brookfield, North Fork, to name a few.  We maintain a museum that always has utilities to pay and is open by appointment.  The Westfield Area Historical Society, founded in 1979, operates the Robert E. Dibble Museum on West Main Street which houses documents, books, genealogical records and other artifacts relating to the cultural heritage of this rural community.

The Society has a website www.westfieldpahistoricalsociety.org

The Society owns the Flower Boxes on Main Street that various businesses sponsor.  These boxes are in need of repair and paint.

We coordinate the town Christmas tree display and Nativity scene each December.

The Veteran's Banner program continues with 124 banners gracing our streets from May-November.  This is an ongoing program.

We are using this 2024 fundraiser towards

    (1) creating a display area for the Dr.  Pritchard collection gifted from his family,

    (2) paying the monthly utility bills.  It is  estimated that the utility cost will be over $3,300 this year,

    (3) scanning equipment to start to digitize written content housed in the building.

Your donations will keep this historic building open and are greatly appreciated.  Previously, they have helped get a new roof for the building.
