Do you want to support and enjoy the presentation of choral music in our area?  The West Branch Chorale provides an excellent opportunity for you to do so!

Founded in September 1970, the West Branch Chorale has a 55-year history as a vehicle for singers in North Central Pennsylvania to learn and sing choral music in a variety of styles and to present that music to the general public.  We primarily draw our members and our audiences from three (Lycoming, Northumberland and Union) of the seven Pennsylvania counties which Raise the Region benefits.  With the exception of an 18-month break during the recent pandemic, the Chorale has regularly presented concerts in the Spring and Fall of each year at various sites in Lycoming County.  We started with 8 singers in 1970 and, under the leadership of our current Choral Director Mr. Kenneth Kihlthau, we presently number 30 to 40 depending on the season.

We do not ask prospective singers to audition; if you like to sing, you're welcome to join our Chorale.  Membership is free as is admission to our concerts.  We do, however, solicit free-will offerings at the concerts.

Patron donations (primarily through Raise the Region) and the free-will concert offerings fund our activities which we expect will cost approximately $7,500 in 2026.  The Raise the Region campaigns provided about 2/3 of our operating funds in the past two years.  We enjoyed very successful campaigns in those years as a small organization in the Raise the Region campaigns, including winning a $1,000 prize in 2024 for being a first time participating small organization with the most unique donors.  We are quite thankful for the support we have received through Raise the Region and we look forward to building on that in 2026.

Our Spring concerts this year will take place on May 2 at Pine Street United Methodist Church in Williamsport beginning at 6:00 PM and on May 3 at Pleasant View Wesleyan Church in Muncy beginning at 3:00 PM.  We hope that you will be able to join us as we present the concert "Songs of Home and Travel".

If joining the Chorale is a possibility for you, we would love to have you.  We typically begin weekly practices for our Fall season at the Muncy Baptist Church on the first Monday after Labor Day with two concerts taking place in December; the Spring season's practices generally begin on the first Monday after New Year's Day with those concerts taking place between Easter and Mother's Day.  Singers are welcome to participate in either season or both.
