Have you been impacted by addiction or a family member, friend, or co-worker been impacted by addiction? Our rural community is being attacked by addiction. Walking Free Clubhouse was established in January 2025 to address the growing issue of addiction in Snyder County, where limited recovery resources are available. With only six Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and one Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meeting weekly in the entire county, there is a significant gap in support for individuals struggling with addiction and their families. The Clubhouse's mission is to provide a safe, supportive environment with sober activities, recovery meetings, and educational resources. It offers AA, NA, SMART Recovery, and Celebrate Recovery meetings, as well as Nar Anon and Families in Recovery for family support. Additional services include peer support through a Certified Recovery Specialist, access to resources like a laptop for job applications, clothing for interviews, and a shower for those in need. Walking Free is also planning a Second Chance Job Fair in April and an annual recovery walk in September to raise awareness. The Clubhouse aims to create opportunities for healing, recovery, and community education, and assisting individuals reentering the community from the criminal justice system. Walking Free Clubhouse is also a safe place to come hang out for support, to have a cup of coffee, play a game or a game of pool.. it is just a safe sober place to be when someone is struggling or needs somewhere to go..
