Union County Giving Closet

Imagine a child in our community waking up on a chilly morning without a warm coat, or attending school in ill-fitting shoes. For many local families, this is a harsh reality. The Union County Giving Closet, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in downtown Lewisburg, is dedicated to changing this narrative by providing new and gently used clothing and shoes for children from newborns to 18 years of age, whose families are enrolled in the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. 

This mission is sustained through the generosity of donors like you. Your support ensures that children in need are provided with essential clothing, boosting their confidence and well-being. Each child enrolled in our program receives a seasonal, biannual clothing package that includes: 7 outfits, 1 pair of shoes, 1 pair of pajamas, 1 new pack of socks and 1 new pack of underwear. In 2024, we filled 243 clothing requests totaling 1,701 outfits, 243 pairs of shoes, 243 pairs of pajamas, 1,215 pairs of socks and 1,215 pairs of underwear. With the support of our community and donors like you, we were able to make a difference in the lives of 202 children and their families from Union, Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, and Snyder Counties. 

We are excited to be participating in Raise the Region again this year and aim to raise $5,000 to continue our vital work. Every dollar contributed directly impacts a child's life, providing them with the attire they need for daily activities and school.
