The Survivors Journey

Welcome to The Survivor's Journey!  We envision a transformative impact on the lives of cancer survivors, empowering each individual to navigate their unique journey with strength and resilience. We are committed to establishing ourselves as a preeminent hub for cancer survivors and their support networks. We are dedicated to cultivating positive dialogues, delivering invaluable resources, and nurturing a vibrant sense of community, contributing to the long-term outlook for survivors.

Our mission is to go beyond being a mere resource—we aspire to be a guiding light in the challenging terrain of cancer, standing as a beacon of hope and unwavering support for survivors and their families. By actively responding to the diverse needs of those affected, we aim to accompany them on their journey and instill a profound sense of empowerment and assurance that no one walks alone in the face of adversity.

Survivor's Journey is devoted to making a lasting difference, fostering a culture of resilience, and ensuring that every survivor's path is illuminated with compassion, understanding, and the collective strength of our community. Together, we strive to redefine the narrative of survivorship, creating a future where the journey through cancer is marked not only by challenges but also by triumphs, resilience, and enduring camaraderie.

Our primary objectives are as follows:

1. Build a thriving community of cancer survivors and supporters who support other survivors.
2. Create a comprehensive online platform that offers informative content, personal stories, and a supportive community for cancer survivors and their loved ones.
3. Establish a sustainable funding model to ensure the long-term viability of Survivor's Journey.
4. Expand our reach and impact by collaborating with medical professionals, researchers, and relevant organizations.
5. Advocate for policies that benefit cancer survivors and promote positive dialogues on cancer.
6. Measure and communicate the positive impact we make on the lives of cancer survivors.

Survivor's Journey will offer the following types of content:

• Personal Narratives: Continue to share John Yoder's inspirational cancer journey and stories from other survivors.
• Educational Content: Provide information on various cancer types, treatments, coping strategies, and resources.
• Supportive Resources: Offer guidance from professionals on mental health, nutrition, exercise, and community support.
• Guest Contributions: Encourage contributions in the form of stories from survivors, caregivers, and healthcare professionals for a well-rounded perspective.

Being part of a community for cancer survivors offers a holistic support system that addresses emotional, informational, and advocacy needs. It creates an environment where individuals can share, learn, and thrive together, enhancing their overall quality of life post-cancer. 

We are proud to serve cancer survivors and caregivers across our home counties of Montour, Columbia, Lycoming, Northumberland, Union, Snyder, and Sullivan. And through our growing virtual programs, our reach extends far beyond these borders. Survivors from across the region — and well outside it — join our online support groups, workshops, and community spaces, finding connection, hope, and understanding no matter where they live.

Raise the Region helps us ensure that every survivor who seeks community can access it, whether they’re right here at home or miles away. No one walks this journey alone.

Survivor's Journey is committed to changing the culture of cancer conversations, offering hope, and fostering a supportive community for survivors. We believe that by answering the call of survivors and their families, we can make a significant difference in their journey through cancer.
