Camp Setebaid

Since 1978, Setebaid Services® has created life-changing experiences for children and teens ages 7-18 with Type 1 Diabetes. Through Camp Setebaid®, a program of Setebaid Services, we offer a unique and empowering space where they can temporarily escape the daily challenges of managing diabetes. At camp, they don't just learn how to control their condition, they rebuild their confidence, find their independence, and form friendships that last a lifetime.

Our camps offer all the adventure of a traditional summer experience — swimming, archery, arts and crafts, zip-lining, rock climbing, and more — while providing the specialized care where children and teens can thrive. Camp Setebaid is not just a camp. It's where kids gain the knowledge and confidence to live healthier lives while building the emotional resilience that will stay with them long after camp ends.

Camp is carefully designed to meet the unique needs of children living with Type 1 Diabetes. Camp Setebaid believes in the power of education and support to transform lives. Our volunteers, many of whom are leading healthcare professionals from top pediatric diabetes care centers — work alongside professional educators to guide campers in learning how to manage their diabetes and live full, healthy lives. For many of our campers, the experience is nothing short of life-changing.

What sets Camp Setebaid apart from all other camps? We are the only Type 1 Diabetes camp in Pennsylvania accredited by the Camp Association, fully compliant with the American Diabetes Association’s standards. We also ensure that every camper receives the highest level of care, with one physician for every eight campers. It’s an environment where their health and well-being are our top priority.

But camp isn’t affordable for every family. For many, the cost of sending a child to camp is simply out of reach. That’s where you come in. Your generous donation to our Campership program makes it possible for children who otherwise couldn’t afford camp to experience the transformative benefits we offer.
