Seeds of the Future

A 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization founded by Rohrbach's Farm.  It's our mission to provide farm & agricultural-based learning & social experiences that are accessible, affordable & relevant.  Each experience should equip & enrich individuals as well as our greater community. 

Through grant funding and the endeavors of staff and support of Rohrbach’s Farm, our number for agriculture impact grew substantially from 2023.  In 2023 we impacted 2,199 students with agriculture-based education.  In 2024, we nearly doubled that number to 4,019 students who were impacted with agriculture education.  Since parents and teachers often attend educational events with their children, we began to track our impact on adults as well, which was 1,139 for 2024.  

All these impacts were achieved both on our Farm as well as off-site.  We interacted with Cyberschools, Homeschoolers and 17 different schools in our region.  

One major achievement of Seeds Of The Future was wheelchair accessible gardens.  Through grant funding, four wheelchair accessible gardens were built, stained and planted with sensory friendly plants.  A fifth wheelchair accessible garden was built for future plans.  With a total of 113.95 volunteer hours, this was a collaborative effort with Columbia Montour Vo-Tech Horticulture High School students.   In addition to the school, two local, retired gentlemen prepared the lumber and supervised the building project with students.  Each student had multiple opportunities to learn about measurements, tool use and assembly of the project.   The students, along with their teacher, used their Horticulture education to completely oversee the garden, from plant selection, to the planting of each plant.  Throughout the summer, guests at the farm had access to the gardens.  We are looking forward to many years of use of the gardens.
