Northern Tier Industry & Education Consortium

A nonprofit organization

The Northern Tier Industry & Education Consortium (NTIEC) was founded in 1993 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit school-to-work organization with a goal of serving students in the Northern Tier counties by integrating the education and employment processes. The basic premise is that students who have a good understanding of career opportunities, especially through first-hand experience, can make informed career and educational choices which can impact our local economy.

Our mission is to create a highly-skilled workforce in Northeastern Pennsylvania through the integration of school employment and training processes. We currently collaborate and work with over 300 employers and 18 school districts. The focus of our educational coordinators and certified teachers/career coaches is on bringing work-based learning (WBL) opportunities to as many students as possible through a variety of programs.

As a small non-profit organization, we’re always seeking funding in order to reduce costs to schools and allow more students the chance to participate in our programs. By participating in Raise the Region 2024, we are seeking funds for our internship program, in which more than 200 students are participating this academic year.  The funds will specifically go to assist schools in Tioga County - Northern Tioga, Southern Tioga, and Wellsboro Area School Districts. We look forward to the multitude of support we will receive from this great initiative!
