About Us
The Northcentral Pennsylvania Conservancy (NPC) is a regional land trust dedicated to conserving and enhancing the lands and waters of Northcentral PA to support the environmental well-being and recreational needs of local communities.

The NPC Story
Formed in 1989, NPC was created to conserve the lands and waters that make the Northcentral region such a special place to live, work, and visit. Today, NPC remains a locally supported and locally run land trust that reflects the interests and needs of the communities throughout the region. Your gift helps sustain this local conservation effort.

What Your Support Means
By giving to NPC, you are helping to:

  1. Conserve the Region’s Natural Resources:
From generational family farms to working forests, NPC’s conserved lands help clean the air, recharge groundwater, create wildlife corridors, and provide numerous other ecological and health benefits. Thanks to donors like you, NPC has conserved over 12,000 acres across a 12-county region.
  2. Enhance Recreational Access:
Your support helps expand and improve access to trails, waterways, and forests, offering opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, exploration, and more! NPC has played a key role in ensuring that people can reach and enjoy some of the region’s most treasured outdoor destinations - including the Loyalsock Trail, Pine Creek Rail Trail, Pine Creek, Penns Creek, and the West Branch of the Susquehanna River.
  3. Improve Water Quality:
Through our role with the Northcentral Stream Partnership, NPC works with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC), Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), and county conservation districts to reduce the amount of sediment entering local streams. This keeps the water cleaner and enhances water quality across the region. The success of this partnership has turned it into a model for stream health improvement throughout the state.
  4. Connect our Communities
From guided hikes to gardening workshops, NPC offers hands-on learning experiences and recreational activities that inspire a deeper connection to nature. Your support helps create these opportunities to bring people together, fostering community and encouraging a lifelong appreciation for the natural world around us.

Impact That Lasts
"If you want to conserve the land for the future, this is the best way to do it."
– Marc McMorris, Conservation Easement Landowner
In the heart of Lycoming County, the McMorris family has cared for a 60-acre farm—a living story of stewardship, family, and a deep love for the land. Recently, Marc McMorris and his siblings partnered with NPC to establish a conservation easement on this property, ensuring that it remains conserved for generations to come.

Carol McMorris, the family matriarch, instilled a love for the land through countless hikes around the property. Pictured: Carol with 3 of her children - Scott, Kelly, and Marc - and her grandson, David.

“Jane and I are proud of the NPC and the work and projects they do.”
- Barry Brucklacher, Conservation Easement Landowner

Landowners, Barry and Jane Brucklacher, partnered with NPC in 2023 to conserve the wildlife habitat, biodiversity, farmland, and natural resources on 28.9 acres of their homestead in Tioga County. Today, they remain proud supporters of NPC’s conservation projects throughout the region.

Jane and Barry Brucklacher established a conservation easement on their Tioga County property with NPC in 2023.

Your support gives NPC the resources and tools to conserve lands like the McMorris farm and Brucklacher property, ensuring these cherished places remain conserved for the benefit of our communities and future generations.
