Help Us Change Lives!

The Milton Public Library’s mission is to inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge, and strengthen our community. Your support allows us to fulfill our mission by providing free access to books, technology, programs, and community events that inspire and empower individuals of all ages.

Real Stories:

Scarlet* and her children come in weekly to read our books, participate in learning programs, and gain free access to the internet. They are now avid readers and eager to learn!

Rachel* used our career resources and Interlibrary Loan services to land a new job!

Ethan* asked for help keeping in touch with his grandkids, who live far away. One of our librarians spent one-on-one time teaching him how to use his device, and signed him up for our free computer classes. He now video calls them every week!

As you can see, every dollar you contribute helps us change lives. Our library is funded almost exclusively by donations, so every dollar counts. Overall, donations go towards purchasing books and other materials, providing internet service onsite and via loaned hotspots, developing programming for all ages, and of course, keeping the lights on and doors open!

What We Do: Bringing the Community Together

Libraries are more than just buildings full of books—they are vital community centers that provide opportunities for education, connection, and growth. At the Milton Public Library, we believe that access to knowledge should be available to everyone. Our mission is to create an environment where every person, regardless of age or background, can discover the joy of learning.

Your donation directly impacts the services we can offer. Whether it’s funding new books for children, providing access to technology, or offering community programs that help local families thrive, your support ensures that the library can continue to serve as a vital resource for all.

Specifically,

  • $25 pays for 1 new book or 2 new DVDs

  • $50 pays for a library program (like Storytime with a Police Officer or Mathfest!)

  • $100 pays for one Wi-Fi hotspot for the month

  • $250 buys an entire month's worth of new books for the collections

Without the generosity of donors like you, many of these programs simply wouldn’t be possible. Together, we can help ensure that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, has access to the educational tools and opportunities they need.

Here are more ways your donation can make a difference:

  • Rising Costs: The cost of books, technology, and educational programs has steadily increased over the years. Without additional funding, it’s hard for libraries to keep up with demand, let alone expand services to reach more people.
  • Programming: Libraries are much more than places for borrowing books. We offer clubs, workshops, literacy programs, and much, much more. Donations make these programs possible.
  • Community Accessibility: Libraries often serve populations that may be underserved. Donations help us keep our doors open to everyone, regardless of their background or financial situation.
  • Technology Needs: In an increasingly digital world, libraries provide free access to computers, the internet, and other technology. These services are especially important for those who don’t have access at home. Donations help us provide and maintain access to internet and mobile hotspots.

Join Us in Making a Difference!

It’s easy to make an impact! Regardless of the amount, your contribution ensures that we can continue providing the vital resources that our community needs.
