Lil' City Big Dreams

Lil’ City Big Dreams is a Williamsport-based nonprofit dedicated to mentoring and empowering underserved youth through sports. Our mission is simple — remove financial barriers so every child, regardless of income, has the opportunity to participate, grow, and succeed both on and off the field. Each year, Lil’ City Big Dreams provides dozens of local youth with hundreds of hours of structured athletic and mentorship opportunities — all at no cost to their families.

Lil’ City Big Dreams operates completely free of charge for the families we serve. We believe access to sports, mentorship, and opportunity should never depend on a family’s financial situation. Because of this commitment, our organization covers essential costs such as registration fees, uniforms, equipment, facility space, and insurance through donations and community fundraising.

Lil’ City Big Dreams is completely volunteer-run — none of our coaches or volunteers are paid.

Sustain Free Programming

Ensure that every child has the opportunity to participate regardless of financial circumstances. Donations help cover the day-to-day operational costs of running our program, including equipment, uniforms, insurance, facility rentals, transportation, and registration fees.

Expand Opportunities for Local Youth

Provide additional sports programs, mentorship opportunities, and leadership development experiences that help young athletes grow both on and off the field.

Strengthen Community Connections

Host community events, volunteer opportunities, and youth engagement initiatives that bring families, local businesses, and residents together to support the next generation.

Lil’ City Big Dreams is committed to transparency, accountability, and community impact. Every dollar donated directly supports the youth we serve. By partnering with local businesses, volunteers, and community members, we are building a sustainable network of support that allows young athletes to dream bigger, work harder, and see possibilities beyond their circumstances.

Lil’ City Big Dreams serves youth athletes and families throughout Williamsport and the surrounding Lycoming County region, a community where many families face significant economic challenges.

More than 25% of Williamsport residents live below the poverty line, which is more than double the Pennsylvania state average. The median household income is approximately $48,000, significantly lower than the national average. These economic realities mean that many children in our community have limited access to extracurricular opportunities that help build confidence, discipline, and life skills.

Participation in organized sports often requires registration fees, equipment costs, uniforms, and other expenses that place these opportunities out of reach for many families.

Lil’ City Big Dreams was created to remove those barriers.

Our program intentionally does not charge registration fees, ensuring that every child—regardless of their family’s financial situation—has the opportunity to participate, develop their talents, and build confidence through athletics.

Beyond sports, our goal is to help young people expand their perspective of what is possible for their future. Many of the youth we serve have had limited opportunities to experience environments outside of their immediate surroundings. Through mentorship, athletics, and community support, we help expose them to new experiences, new environments, and new possibilities.

We believe that access to opportunity should never be determined by a family’s income.
