Leadership Susquehanna Valley

Leadership Susquehanna Valley's mission is to identify and understand the needs of the Susquehanna Valley and the people it serves, while cultivating skills and inspiring effective leaders to utilize their talents for the betterment of the Susquehanna Valley Region.

Founded in 1994, Leadership Susquehanna Valley is an adult leadership program designed to engage and equip emerging and established leaders in Union, Snyder, Northumberland and Montour Counties. Participants in the program gather together over 10 months to gain a behind-the-scenes look at 8 different industries in the region: Communications, Education, Healthcare, Local Government, Community and Human Services, Agriculture and Tourism. Included in each program day are leadership training exercises that deal in conflict resolution, teamwork and team building, public speaking, and more. 

Class members participate in a leadership retreat, complete public speaking exercises, receive regular professional development training, and are required to engage in a community service project which directly benefits a local non-profit. This experience, as well as the training they receive, prepares class members to actively engage in the region, and to become the leader's of tomorrow.  

Who We Are

Leadership Susquehanna Valley is a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation that provides leadership programs to educate and motivate a diverse group of citizens for effective community and organizational leadership. The organization is driven by an all-volunteer board of directors, and currently contracts with the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce for professional management services.
