His Thousand Hills Inc

His Thousand Hills has hosted Christ-centered camps and retreats, as well as community events, for over 40 years. God has blessed us with 110 acres in the hills just outside of Wellsboro, PA and ideal facilities for small and large groups (of up to 100 overnight guests). Kids, teens, young adults, men, women, and families have enjoyed fun activities, been refreshed by rest, and most importantly have found a dedicated time and place to step away from daily distractions and grow closer to the Lord and to each other. We are thrilled to serve churches, organizations, and the local community in the beauty and quietness of God's creation.

Last year, through YOUR giving during Raise the Region, we were able to replace our one old and inefficient refrigerator with TWO new commercial refrigerators! This has allowed us to meet our growing hosting and hospitality needs, as we began hold our own programming again this year (summer day camp, a ladies' retreat, couples date night dinners). The greater refrigeration capacity has also been a huge blessing as the Planted Gap Year program for young adults, which operates at HTH, doubled in size this year.

We want to build on this big improvement with the next stage of much needed kitchen renovations!

What we’ve been able to do with Raise the Region funds last year was a great start in making our kitchen the hub of ministry we want it to be. These improvements will complete the process of updating appliances, improving kitchen workflows, and insuring that our staff and guests can enjoy a clean, safe, and beautiful place to practice the best of camp hospitality.

In Scripture we see the important role that meals and food play in relationships and discipleship. This is certainly true with camp, retreat, and Gap-Year ministries — campers, guests, and students all fellowship around the table. And so, in many ways, the HTH Lodge - which houses our kitchen and dining hall - is the heart of our facilities and the programs we offer.

This year, we hope to continue upgrading our kitchen area. When you give, you're not just upgrading a kitchen - you're strengthening the place where students and campers laugh, friendships deepen, and lives are discipled around the table.

🍽 New Dish Drying Station & Shelving
Our current setup can’t keep up with the volume of meals we serve. Additional shelving will improve sanitation, storage, and kitchen flow.

🧊 Reliable Ice Maker
Our aging ice machine struggles to meet our camp needs. A dependable, space-efficient unit will better serve campers and guests year-round.

❄️ Larger Freezer Capacity
As ministry grows, so do our storage needs. Increased freezer space allows us to store food safely and serve more people well.

🛠 Ceiling Replacement & Insulation
Our deteriorating ceiling and poor insulation led to frozen pipes this winter. Updating both will protect our kitchen and prevent future damage. 

⚡ Electrical updates
It's been a long time since this area got the attention its deserves, and updating the aging electrical components will increase safety, reliability, and capacity for our growing programs.
