Who We Are

Greenwood Friends School, founded in 1978, offers personalized, child-centered education to preschool through eighth grade students.  We teach to the whole child emphasizing creativity, a love of learning, and positive leadership development.  Our mission embraces the Quaker values of peace, integrity, equality, community, simplicity and stewardship. Students explore their environment locally and globally learning through innovation and collaboration, preparing them to succeed in our ever-changing world.  Our children experience "Fridays in the Forest"- an outdoor nature program that educates them about the environment, encourages outside exploration, and builds their confidence.  All Greenwood students receive art, music, and Spanish classes—along with our core curriculum of reading, math, social studies and inquiry-based science.

Located near Millville, Greenwood Friends School arranges transportation from seven local school districts, across several counties in the Susquehanna Valley.  Greenwood is the only independent school in our region accredited by the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools. We provide generous financial aid to ensure inclusion of all economic levels, and accept students without regard to race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, social or religious background.   We welcome everyone!
