At Danville Child Development Center (DCDC), we believe every child deserves a place to feel safe, loved, and inspired to grow. For over 50 years, our classrooms have been that place—a second home filled with warmth, laughter, and learning. Today, we serve over 600 children annually across two facilities, with a dedicated team of 40+ professionals committed to nurturing each child’s growth, curiosity, and success.

But the truth is: keeping that promise has become harder each year. Like so many early childhood programs across the country, we’ve faced lasting impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic. Unavoidable closures, unpredictable attendance, and increased operating costs challenged our ability to provide consistent, high-quality care. Although our classrooms are full and our staff remains strong, the financial effects of those years still weigh heavily on us.

This is not about mismanagement—it’s about survival and service through years of uncertainty. Grants and other funding sources are increasingly competitive and often do not cover the core operational costs that actually keep our doors open. That’s why we’re turning to our community with honesty, urgency, and hope.
