Columbia-Montour Companions of Hope

A nonprofit organization

Columbia Montour Companions of Hope was founded by the congregation of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ with a clear and compassionate vision: to better address social justice concerns in our community through an independent, inclusive nonprofit organization.

While born from a faith community, Companions of Hope operates as a separate nonprofit entity. This distinction ensures that all individuals feel safe and welcome, free from any concern about proselytizing or religious pressure. Our goal is to create a space rooted in dignity, respect, and equity — particularly for communities that have experienced harm or marginalization in the past.

At the same time, we are committed to strengthening community connections by promoting the church building as a shared community center, opening its doors for use by other nonprofit organizations and partners.

Our premier program, the New Possibilities Resource & Recovery Drop-In Center, proudly serves individuals throughout Columbia and Montour Counties, as well as surrounding communities. We welcome everyone—without restriction—to stop in, participate in our activities, and seek support. Our doors are open to all who are looking for connection, resources, and assistance on their recovery journey.

Our flagship initiative, New Possibilities Resource & Recovery Drop-In Center, provides compassionate support for individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder.

We offer:

  • A safe, non-judgmental environment for individuals at any stage of recovery

  • Daily programming Monday through Friday to promote sustained recovery

  • Crisis support and assistance with accessing inpatient, outpatient, and counseling services

  • Educational workshops and ongoing recovery growth opportunities

  • Professional support from Certified Recovery Specialists and Certified Family Recovery Specialists

  • Peer connection, fellowship, and sober community activities
