The Bloomsburg Area YMCA is so much more than a building. It is a place where kids grow up, friendships are formed, barriers are broken, and neighbors show up for one another. It is where community happens.

We believe everyone deserves a place to belong. That belief drives everything we do.

We are here for the toddler taking their first swim lesson, the teen discovering a love for STEM through our STEMagination program, the parent balancing work and childcare, the senior finding strength in a fitness class, and the individual with a disability gaining meaningful employment and independence. We are here for families navigating hard seasons and for those celebrating life’s biggest milestones. We are here when it matters most.

Inclusion is not just something we talk about. It is a commitment we put into action every day. In 2024, we launched the I Can Y program to expand opportunities for individuals of all abilities, including adults with special needs seeking support in employment, wellness, and community engagement. Through initiatives such as I Can Work and I AM Safe, we promote job readiness, independence, and personal safety. Our Adaptive Recreation and Adaptive Fitness programs provide accessible exercise and engaging activities, while Sensory Santa and our Sensory Tent create welcoming, sensory-friendly experiences for families. We proudly employ individuals with disabilities and intentionally create pathways for growth, confidence, purpose, and belonging because everyone deserves the opportunity to participate fully and meaningfully in their community.

Our Community Resource Hub is an extension of that same heart. Sometimes what someone needs is not a workout. Sometimes it is guidance, connection, or support. We work alongside local partners to connect families to real solutions, because being a YMCA means showing up for the whole person.

From preschool and before- and after-school care to youth sports, senior wellness, summer camp adventures, and innovative learning programs, we are constantly evolving to meet the needs of Columbia and Montour Counties. And through it all, one promise remains: we will never turn anyone away due to an inability to pay. Access matters. People matter.

At the end of the day, we are not just strengthening bodies. We are strengthening confidence. Strengthening opportunities. Strengthening community.
